ARE YOUR KIDNEYS OK?

Kidney disease is a significant health issue in South Africa, with Kidney Awareness Week held annually during the first week of September to raise public awareness and promote early detection, as the disease often has no early symptoms. Chronic kidney disease (CKD) has been estimated to affect as much as 15% of the South African population, with diabetes and high blood pressure the major causes. Early detection can delay, or completely prevent, the onset of chronic kidney disease.
